Qualifications
Ian acquired his own chambers in 2019.
Given his lengthy and committed sailing connections he considered it only appropriate to name his new chambers “Bowline Chambers”.
Ian is the son of a farming soldier Settler from Kangaroo Island South Australia. With his history steeped in rural connections he has a down-to-earth, pragmatic, and considered approach to all legal matters. This is very much a product of his own life’s experience.
Having first appeared in the Family Court in 1981 he has seen many changes throughout the years to this jurisdiction. He has been a consistent and regular advocate for a multitude of clients both male, female and as an Independent Children’s Representative over many years.
He seeks to ensure that all matters are given the same care and attention to ensure that the most successful outcome can be achieved in all circumstances for all clients.
Interests
Ian is committed to his family, loves all sports, particularly AFL, and is a die-hard Port Power fan. Ian enjoys attending live music venues of all genres, the Theatre and enjoys the occasional wine (all varieties).
